all-metal sensors in a small size

It is difficult to imagine automation technology without inductive proximity sensors. The technology used in this type of sensor has existed for nearly 60 years – and development continues.

Inductive sensors with metallic sensor surface are among the mostly demanded device solutions, as they are, in comparison to versions with an active surface made of plastic, much more robust and absolutely sealed. In the past, the smallest design had a diameter of 6.5mm. The latest devices size M5x0.5 respectively 4mm round, round off the production range now. These non-flush versions feature, like its big "role models", a one-piece stainless steel housing. For a norm measuring plate or an object of 9x9x1mm, the nominal switching distance of these extremely robust all-metal sensors is 3mm. Due to the transformational measurement principle, the reduction factors on nonferrous metals are low. The maximum switching frequency is 1200Hz.

Information on the operating principle: A flashing of the switching state LED indicates that the object to be detected is at the limit of 80-100% of the detection range. When it approaches further to the sensor, the LED illuminates continuously. In this way, the operator can quickly determine if the sensor operates reliably in practical use. The electrical connection is made via a standard 3-pin M8 cable connector.
